ANSWER BUSH WITH VOTE

To the editor:

Gov. George Bush has every right not to answer questions about drug
use in the past. Bush also has the right to run, not to run, for
public office.

Having decided favorably on the latter, he is obligated to respond
fully to the former.

Instead of losing his temper and saying, "it's none of your business"
or equivocating about seven, 15 or 25 years ago, Bush should answer
completely and honestly.

Drug and alcohol use are not "private" questions; they bear
significantly on the ability of a person to act responsibly,
particularly in times of stress. I am concerned about a possible
president who has, or had, alcohol problems and who can't seem to give
a simple answer on drug use.

Bush says if I don't like his answers, I can vote for someone else.
Would I, at this point, vote for Bush? I'm afraid I must just say no.
