SOLDIERS' RANDOM DRUG TESTS
The Senate yesterday passed amendments to also give commanding officers
more powers to punish soldiers found using illegal drugs.
If defence force members participating in either war or combat-related
activities test positive they could face dismissal or demotion.
Under the Defence Legislation Amendment Bill refusal to take a drug test or
interfering with a test could mean up to six months in prison.
