SOAP STAR SAYS HE'S CLEAN
Venezuelan actor Fernando Carrillo declared his innocence following
his Miami Beach arrest on misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession.
"I don't think this will jeopardize my career because I'm innocent,"
Carrillo told a throng of reporters.
Carrillo, 33, recently starred in a soap called Rosalinda along with
Mexican actress and singer Thalia. He was in Miami Beach to begin work
on a new album, said his publicist Angela
The actor was busted for possession of marijuana and possession of
drug paraphernalia last week. He was sitting in the back seat of a
white Jeep when it was pulled over after speeding through a school
zone, said the Miami Beach Police Department.
An officer searched the vehicle after smelling marijuana and found a
bag of suspected marijuana on the seat where Carrillo had been
sitting, three bags under the seat and a backpack containing a metal
pipe with marijuana residue, police said.
"We all make mistakes," Carrillo said when asked if he had learned
anything from this experience. "This has been a hold on my career for
two days. I want to get it over with."
