POLICE SEIZE SMUGGLED DRUGS

Almost a kilogram of heroin and about 1.5kg of amphetamines were
seized at Sydney and Adelaide airports on Monday.

Justice and Customs Minister Amanda Vanstone said officers seized the
illegal drugs from passengers arriving on international flights.

Australian Federal Police charged a 29-year-old Israeli national with
importing a prohibited substance.

And a 62-year-old woman travelling on an Indian passport was remanded
in custody after appearing in Adelaide Magistrate's Court on charges
relating to importing a prohibited drug.
