POT PLANTS BOOBY-TRAPPED
A Halton police officer came close to getting his feet pierced with
nails Monday after discovering a booby-trapped marijuana patch in a
Burlington backyard. Police say 3-1/2-inch nails were driven into
several wooden planks that had been buried under the soil. The officer
was about to walk into the patch when a suspect told him to step away,
police said.
Twenty-one marijuana plants worth an estimated $21,000
were seized Monday night from the backyard of the Longmoor Dr. home.
Charged with possession and production of a controlled drug and with
setting traps likely to cause bodily harm is Scott Henderson, 40. He
is to appear in court Oct. 27.
