DEALING WITH ADDICTS
Mr. Radwanski has nailed the issue dead-on. Indeed, reduce harm.
Reduce sickness and disease. Don't criminalize it. The policies of
government that have promoted such issues of social and civil
uncleanliness are the guilty ones here. If Canada does not veer away
from the U.S. mode of punishment and incarceration, and move toward
effective policy models in handling drug use and abuse, you will err
greatly.
