OTHER FINDINGS
Other findings from a survey of more than 1,300 ninth-through 12th-graders
in the Keys:
31 percent had their first drink before they were 12.
13 percent had used inhalants, 5 percent heroin and 9 percent
methamphetamines.
17 percent had had four or more sex partners.
40 percent rode with a driver who had been drinking
alcohol.
43 percent were trying to lose weight.
5 percent missed school because they felt unsafe.
92 percent never or rarely wore a bicycle helmet.
