YESTERDAY'S NEWS
Editor:
Eureka! The dealers have shown up with new dope and the junkies are
screaming, "hooray!" No, I'm not talking about the pot plantations in Marin
County, but Chevron's oil fields in the Gulf of Mexico ("Big oil find by
Chevron team deep in Gulf," Sept. 6).
Whatever happened to global warming and the fact that digging up and
burning 15 billion more barrels of crude oil is the equivalent of
leaving our children locked in the car on a hot summer day? Oh, but I
forgot, that's yesterday's news: Today, we're back to the color of
Katie Couric's dress and Mexican drug lords destroying our beautiful
country with that evil marijuana plant.
Did I mention that if it weren't for the oil lobby we'd be fueling our
economy on hemp and vegetable oil? Chevron is locking us all in the
car on their way to the bank.
