MEDICAL MARIJUANA: D. C. VOTERS HAVE SPOKEN
Obviously, the voters of Washington, D. C., did not know what they
were doing when 69% voted to legalize marijuana for medical use ("D.C.
voters, Congress clash over medical marijuana law," News, Tuesday).
Obviously, lawmakers cannot allow adult citizens to make their own
decisions as to which herbs or drugs to use. Otherwise, it would send
the wrong message to children: that the Constitution and Bill of
Rights really mean what they say.
Obviously, the signers of the Declaration of Independence did not know
what they were doing when they declared the right to "life, liberty
and the pursuit of happiness" is "inalienable" and
"self-evident."
Obviously, they should have added an exclusion for herbs and drugs
that can harm nobody except the users themselves.
