MARIJUANA OFFERED FOR AUCTION ON EBAY

First guns, then a kidney and now dope. Five hundred pounds of
marijuana were put up for sale on online auction house eBay Inc.
Wednesday, and the bidding reached $10 million before the company
closed the auction down. A spokesman for San Jose-based eBay said the
company stepped in after it was notified by an eBay user. He declined
to reveal the identity of the sellers, who identified themselves
online as ``killpeople'' and said eBay had reported the incident to
authorities, whom he also declined to identify ``at their request.''
News of the auction was first reported Thursday on the online site
auctionwatch.com.
