DRUG RAID AT CHILD'S PARTY TO BE PROBED
VANCOUVER -- A public hearing has been ordered into a police drug raid that
ended up with a family dog shot dead in front of a dozen horrified
youngsters at a birthday party.
A two-month-old infant was splattered with blood when the dog was shot by
members of the Abbotsford emergency response team, who said they did not
know the birthday party was going on until they barged in.
The hearing was ordered by Police Complaint Commissioner Don Morrison,
after an outside police investigation recommended no disciplinary measures
be taken.
The hearing into the incident Jan. 3, 50 kilometres west of Vancouver, will
be conducted by retired Supreme Court judge Peter Millward.
