JUST SAY NO?

Regarding the Sept. 26 article by Christopher Boyd "Ex-governor: Just say
no to legal pot": This is another example that ignorance is driving the
opposition to medical marijuana.

Former Florida Gov. Bob Martinez probably is ignorant about trends in
marijuana use by California kids in the 34 months since California voters
approved medical marijuana. There are no trends. Marijuana use has remained
flat, both for kids and for adults. Two independent surveys -- one by the
feds and one by California -- confirmed this.

Those who still cling to the cherished belief that official approval of
marijuana for medicine will start us down a slippery slope have been proved
wrong. If they can be so wrong on such a simple issue, what else are they
wrong about?
