MOTHER SAYS O.J. WON'T LEAVE DAUGHTER ALONE
The mother of O.J. Simpson's girlfriend, Christine Prody, says her
daughter has been trying to break off the romance and even moved to
South Florida for a new life. But, she says, the former football great
keeps pursuing her.
``She told me they weren't seeing each other, but she still talks to
him, so that means he can still get to her and visit her,'' said Cathy
Bellmore, reached Tuesday in her Minneapolis home. ``I hope they break
up.''
Sunday, Simpson and Prody argued in her West Kendall, Fla., townhouse.
Simpson called 911 seeking help, saying Prody was high on drugs.
Prody, 26, who works in the skin-care business, moved to South Florida
from Los Angeles a couple of months ago and Simpson, 52, who still
lives in California, is a frequent visitor to her leased unit,
neighbors said.
Tuesday, both Simpson and Prody were explaining away the fight and the
pleas for help, saying it all had been a big misunderstanding. And
Prody said the woman Simpson had described as being ``loaded out of
her mind'' was not her but a mutual female friend.
But the Miami-Dade officer who responded to the disturbance call said
Tuesday: ``Read my report. It's all there.''
