SEIZED LOOT

So now we learn that U.S. officials allowed seized Nazi loot,
including silver, china, paintings and rugs, to be auctioned, sold or
kept by Army generals for their own use "U.S. didn't return Nazi loot
found on train, report says" (Star Tribune, Oct. 15). I wonder if 50
years from now the press will reveal that "drug-tainted" homes, boats,
cars, cash, goods and collectibles seized from "drug kingpins" to fund
the endless war on "drug dealers" were routinely used by police
departments for office parties, vacations, or given to cops' friends
and family?
