ANTI-DRUG CAMPAIGN COUNTERPRODUCTIVE
NOW THAT the campaign by Angela Wood has reached media attention
again, I would like to point out a simple fact that seems to have been
overlooked: Ms Wood's daughter died because her friends were reluctant
to call an ambulance, not wanting to get into ' trouble' . Ms Wood's
campaign against drugs further increases the stigma surrounding these
illicit substances and, if she is successful, will probably increase
drug-related deaths as the users of them fear retribution.
