ABOUT A MAN BEING EXTRADITED TO THE U.S. ON DRUG CHARGES GOING BACK 28 YEARS:

Tell the Yanks to stay out of our country, it's none of their business. This
is an ancient case and they should just mind their own business.

Dan McHale, North Vancouver

What? The New York prosecutor doesn't have enough to do in New York? Leave
Mr. Richardson alone.

Jackie Brown, Burnaby

He did it when he was young. Many, many years have passed and I don't think
he should have to do any time any more.

Barb Brevner, North Vancouver

Allan Richardson should have stayed and paid his debt to his own country and
rebuilt his life in his own country. Then he wouldn't be "suffering" as he
says he is now. He's a copout and a dud.

Jean Jobling, Port Coquitlam

It's ridiculous. They should just leave him alone. There are a lot of bigger
fish to fry. There are other people who have committed criminal acts that
are much more serious than his crime. And it's 28 years ago.

Christine Connelly, Coquitlam

How is it that Canada is considering extradition of a stable, contributing
member of society when we can't even deport lifelong criminals, vicious drug
lords and murderers? After all, it took years to deport mass-murderer
Charles Ng. And who knows how long it will take to get rid of suspected
killers like Atif Ahmad Rafay and co-accused Sebastian Burns. But we're in a
hurry to deport a worthy person?

Betty Perverzov, Vancouver

The New York prosecutor is just trying to make a scapegoat out of him
because he didn't want to fight in the war and he didn't believe in it. He's
more than paid his dues and worked really hard to make a new start with his
family. He deserves every chance he can get and we should all fight for him.

Gladys Berzin, Vancouver

If they're pursuing him on a matter of principle, then it's really a waste
of the taxpayers' money. Most Americans would probably feel that way if they
looked at the details of the case.

Caron Graham, Port Coquitlam
