GRANTS ISSUED TO HELP HALT METHAMPHETAMINE
Madison - More than $340,000 in grants will be given to drug task
force units in western Wisconsin to halt the spread of
methamphetamine, Gov. Tommy G. Thompson announced Thursday.
The grants will be used to investigate the drug's manufacture and
sale and educate the public.
The grants include $111,524 for the Green and Lafayette County
Anti-Drug Task Force; $8,065 to the Village of Hazel Green; $100,019
to the City of Platteville for a new anti-drug unit that includes Iowa
and Grant counties; and $122,326 for a drug task force in Polk, St.
Croix and Pierce counties.
