A FLAWED DRUG POLICY
To the Editor:
A Nov. 24 news article on two drug enforcement agents who were
surrounded and nearly killed by a group of suspected drug traffickers
in Mexico raises some interesting questions. If the agents were
illegally armed, would the United States honor a Mexican extradition
request to speed justice? If neither the outlaws nor the Mexican
police want our agents in Mexico, why are they there? Most important,
who still thinks that militant prohibition is effective policy?
