MORE CHARGES FILED AGAINST MARSHAL

A Pasadena marshal already accused of stealing drugs and money during a
sting operation in October was indicted Thursday on aggravated robbery and
aggravated assault charges in two unrelated cases.

A Harris County grand jury returned the indictments against Keith E. Wagner,
39, a Pasadena marshal since August 1997, and his brother, Michael Joe
Wagner, 38, a former police officer. Both, along with Eric Jon Gibson, 38,
of Spring, were indicted on aggravated robbery charges stemming from an Oct.
1 incident.

The two brothers, who live in Pasadena, also are charged with aggravated
assault with a deadly weapon dealing with an Oct. 5 incident in which
someone was threatened, according to the indictments.

Harris County prosecutor Mia Magness would not provide further details about
either incident.

The Wagner brothers along with a third brother, Daniel Charles Wagner, 33,
were charged following an Oct. 21 sting operation in Houston. They, Gibson,
and two others are accused of stealing 5 kilograms of cocaine and about
$50,000 in cash during a sting by the Houston Police Department internal
affairs division, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the FBI.

Also charged in the sting were Pasadena marshal Troy Douglas South, 37, and
Frank Sidney Ferguson, 52, a 17-year Houston police veteran.
