BONFIRE VICTIM'S FAMILY WANTS ANSWERS OVER BLOOD ALCOHOL LEVELS

ARLINGTON (AP) -- The father of a student killed in the Texas A&M
bonfire collapse says he wants questions answered about whether his
son and another cadet were intoxicated when they died.

"No one has contacted me yet about this," said Michael Self of
Arlington.

Toxicology reports released Dec. 4 indicated Self's son, 20- year-old
sophomore Jerry Don Self, had a blood alcohol level of 0.16 -- twice
the state's legal standard for intoxication.

Jeremy Richard Frampton, a 22-year-old senior from Turlock, Calif.,
had a level almost four times the legal limit, officials said.

On Friday, Brazos County Justice of the Peace George Boyett said a
second blood test indicated different results but he would not elaborate.

Michael Self, who maintained that his son did not drink alcohol,
disputed the initial test results. He said his family wants its
physician to review both tests.
