Keep Kids Drug-Free
Re the drug-testing kits given to "community leaders" by Drug Free America:
Doug Smith and Alexander Haig are setting a terrible example for our
children, as well as all decent Americans who share the values and ideals
upon which our country was founded.
One of the most important things parents can share with their children is
trust. On the whole, children who receive trust from their parents value it
and do not violate it. Trust is also a bridge to effective communication.
Smith and Haig are sowing the seeds of destruction by asking parents not
only to distrust their children but to violate their privacy and their bodies.
No drug-testing kit will ever find its way into my hands. I love my
children too much for that.
