20-YEAR TERM FOR DRUGS

A Rosenberg man was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in federal prison
for conspiring to distribute 21 kilograms of cocaine during a
five-month period.

Jesus Manuel Garza, 39, was convicted Oct. 16 in McAllen and sentenced
by U.S. District Judge Filemon B. Vela.

Garza was arrested by U.S. Customs agents and state narcotics officers
in McAllen on July 27 after a delivery of cocaine was monitored by
officers from the Hidalgo Port of Entry in South Texas to Rosenberg.
