THANK GOD FOR RENEE

Thirteen years ago, I watched my father die, ravaged by cancer.

For three weeks at the end, he was in and out of reality.

His pain and his agonizing fight for breath were horrific.

My mom and I begged his doctor to give him something stronger than Tylenol
with codeine for his pain, but to no avail. Every night, from Dad's bedroom
window, I could see drug deals going down on the street below, I watched but
did nothing while my father slowly, painfully died. I'm still furious at the
doctor and myself.

If I had the opportunity again, I would go to the street for drugs and I
would make him marijuana tea - anything to ease his suffering.

I thank God for people like Renee Boje who are fighting the system.
