REPORT TO `DRUG STOPPERS'

For those not familiar with the Drug Policy Forum, this group advocates
legalizing marijuana.

In his Jan. 5 Viewpoints letter, "Not drugs, but prohibition," the DPF
president, G. Alan Robison, said that alcohol and nicotine are highly toxic
and are never needed; these are legal drugs, however, and no one is forcing
us to use them, either.

Making marijuana legal would lead to experimental use of stronger drugs.
Drug prohibition can and does work. More funds are needed for interdiction
by pressuring the countries that grow it, protecting our borders and
rewarding people who turn in drug sellers in our schools and work places --
something like Crime Stoppers, only for drugs.
