A WORD OF CAUTION

Over the past few years, the Vancouver Police have succeeded in convincing
the public that drug enforcement efforts were failing due to a soft-hearted
and libertarian judiciary.

So when yet another drug charge falls flat, I am amused to see police
spokeswoman Anne Drennan switch into reverse.

Now she says that the recent drug case failed because of the mean-spirited
justice system, not because six officers may have vandalized the defendant's
home and may have perjured themselves in court.

It appears Ms. Drennan and the police puppet masters have forgotten that the
officers have been criticized by the same justice system that they claim is
overly cautious at finding fault.
