WHO'S ON DRUGS?

Colombia's chief prosecutor may not be ready to declare victory in
his war on drugs. But he is losing a major publicity battle as
scandal erupts over his decision to put a psychic on staff last year.
The psychic hypnotized his fellow staff members in order to root out
secrets. He even performed an exorcism.

It's an astonishing scenario. In a nation at war with violent drug
lords, in an office under high-security surveillance, the psychic had
free access to every nook and cranny, the use of an armoured car and
the freedom to make his colleagues feel very, very sleepy. The
prosecutor, Mario Iguaran, now says that he hired the psychic to help
ease his employees' stress. The psychic says that he ferreted out
corruption and bribery. With the uproar, no one is sleeping much.
