REASONS TO SUPPORT PETITION FOR MEDICAL MARIJUANA ACT
The Alliance for Reform of Drug Policy in Arkansas is to be commended for
their effort in getting the needed 70,000 signatures on a petition to put
the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act on the November ballot.
As a physician, I know and understand the need for such legislation.
I would urge every responsible citizen to do three things:
(1) If you are not already well informed on the important uses of marijuana
in managing intractable pain, glaucoma, seizures, migraines, etc., .. go to
your public library and ask for a copy of "Marijuana and Medicine: Assessing
the Science Base."
Information can also be obtained from Common Sense for Drug Policy at
703-354-5694 or online at info@csdp.org
(2) Look for, and sign, the petition to put the Arkansas Medical Marijuana
Act on the ballot in the November election. These signatures will not enact
the legislation, but will put the issue on the ballot.
(3) Register and vote in November. This is an important issue and the
benefits are substantial.
