BLOOMFIELD RAVE CLOGS ROADS

KENOSHA (AP) -- Authorities were caught unawares by a rave that drew
thousands of people and clogged roads with so many cars they could
barely get emergency vehicles through.

No one was arrested at the rave, held at a hall in Bloomfield Saturday
night and early Sunday morning, but Bloomfield Police Chief Steve Cole
said his department has just seven officers and the three on duty
Sunday couldn't handle the crowds.

"I think this thing just grew all out of proportion," Cole said.
"Parking and traffic was so bad that we had trouble getting EMS units
in and out."

Nearly 3,000 people attended the rave, which was advertised in clubs
around Wisconsin and Chicago, authorities said. Two people suffered
suspected drug overdoses and one person was treated for exposure.
