ADDICTIVE DRUGS PRESENTATION COMING SOON
The Wynyard and Area Primary Health Team will be hosting an
educational presentation about current drug trends and drug addiction.
The presentation, which will be held on Wednesday, September 27, will
have two speakers, Dr. Jim Cross, an Emergency Room Physician and
RCMP Officer Cst. Rene Shank of the Drug and Organized Crime Awareness Service.
Dr. Cross has seen first hand what people are like after using
various drugs and will discuss the medical aspects of drug abuse.
Cst. Shank's job is to provide education and information to the
public about drugs used at this time and offer ideas about what a
town can do together to help alleviate crime and drug use.
"There have been a few presentations educating teens and the public
about Crystal Meth, this presentation will include education about
all addictive drugs," commented Mark Tarry.
"Crystal Meth is still out there, this presentation will remind
everyone that there are other drugs out there that are just as harmful."
Along with information about the drugs, the presentation will also
inform people of what the drug scene is like in rural areas.
Everyone is invited to attend the free presentation.
