PRISON SEARCH YIELDS DRUG ARRESTS, CITATIONS
RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) - Corrections staff and construction workers were
arrested and cited for drug possession following a search of the men's
prison Wednesday, according to the county attorney.
Carbon County Attorney Tom Campbell declined to elaborate on how many
people are charged, or who is charged. More information is expected to be
available Thursday when criminal charges are filed, he said.
Authorities are investigating the possibility of additional drug offenses,
he said. So far no one has been charged with any felonies.
The search started at 5 a.m. and included a sweep of the grounds and all
vehicles leaving or entering the premises, corrections officials said. Some
inmate cells were inspected.
The search included drug dogs and law officers from six agencies.
