NANAIMO THREE-YEAR-OLD REMOVED AFTER FAMILY BUST

A three-year-old girl is paying the price for a family's suspected
drug-peddling.

She was turned over to the ministry for children and families after being
found by RCMP who executed a search warrant at a Nanaimo residence where
two men and a woman were arrested late Friday on heroin and cocaine charges.

At the home was a large quantity of packaged, street-level cocaine and
heroin, 117 of the so-called "spitballs" of cocaine and 26 of heroin,
police say.

Nanaimo RCMP called the bust a family operation when they arrested Thi Be
Luong, a 41-year-old woman, and two men - Thanh Xuan Hoang, 44, and Tung
Xuang Hoang, 18.

They face charges of possession of the ocntrolled substances for the
purpose of trafficking and will appear in court this morning.

All three of the accused are believed to be Canadian citizens who recently
moved to Nanaimo from Ontario.
