MEXICAN AUTHORITIES SEIZE MORE THAN 16 TONS OF MARIJUANA
MEXICO CITY, February 27, 2000 - Mexican authorities seized more than 16
tons of marijuana and detained three people in the northern state of
Chihuahua on Sunday.
Federal Judicial Police agents stationed at highway checkpoints found 14
tons, 440 kilograms of marijuana in one tractor-trailer truck, 795
kilograms in a second, and 32 kilograms in a passenger bus.
The agents also seized the three vehicles.
