Good news for ex-hippies: Marijuana may fight brain
cancer!

A study published in the March issue of the journal Nature Medicine
shows that marijuana-like drugs eradicated some brain cancers in rats
and helped other animals live longer. The study dealt with gliomas,
the most common category of cancer arising in the brain. But some
brain cancer experts are not impressed, noting that experimental
therapies work better in rats than humans, and that the type of glioma
cells injected into the rat brains to create the tumours do not
properly mimic the human disease.
