LETTER OF THE DAY

RE: ANOTHER Rocky Mountain high bust. "... but we're only getting
about 3% to 5% of what's coming through," said the police officer. So,
what is the point of arresting the few who transport the 3%-5%? What
kind of Orwellian nightmare have we created that people are punished
for what they choose to ingest into their own bodies? There is no more
medical, moral or legal justification for punishing drug users,
manufacturers or distributors today than there was in the past for
burning witches at the stake, lynching blacks or gassing Jews. It's
all about blind, ignorant hatred.
