BLAIR CONSISTENT
In 1997, Tony Blair said that he would not consider decriminalising or
legalising cannabis, even if that were the recommendation of a Royal
Commission.
Since then, he has dismissed the recommendations of, among others, the House
of Lords Select Committee, the Cleveland Police Authority, two Chief
Constables in Scotland, Edward Ellison, ex-head of Scotland Yard's Drugs
Squad, and now the Police Foundation. Oh well, at least he's being
consistent.
