PEOPLE URGED TO TELL ON DRUG DEALERS
PEOPLE are being urged to tell on suspected drug dealers and
criminals in their area under a new police initiative in Nuneaton
and Bedworth.
Officers are using a leaflet drop as part of the force's Operation
Chester and will ask people to help police target illegal activities
across the borough.
The new leaflet will be distributed in areas where police have
recently executed a search warrant.
Detective Sergeant Martyn Stephens, from the force's community
safety team, said: "It's important that we let residents know that
we are taking action against offenders in their neighbourhood.
"Operation Chester is designed to shift the fear of crime from the
victim to the offender.
"This is just one in a whole range of activities police will be
taking over the coming months to disrupt the activities of offenders
in the Nuneaton and Bedworth area and make a life of crime as
difficult as possible."
On Friday, police arrested a 37-year-old on suspicion of possession
and intent to supply class A and C drugs following a search of a
home in the town.
