WEED, BOOZE ARE KILLERS

The March 24 Viewpoints letter from Robert Sharpe, "End drug-war madness,"
would have been funny if not so incorrect and sad. It is a scientific fact
that addiction and hard-drugs follow marijuana use. And if Sharpe thinks
busting drug users or pushers is low-risk, he should accompany officers on a
raid sometime. (He'll have to provide his own bullet-proof vest.)

It is time to end the madness. Therefore, all drug users should stop all
illegal activities as of right now. If these people don't stop, then those
who wish to maintain society as it is will have no choice except to use
every legal method to get them to stop. There is no other way. Those who
choose to obey the law and live in a civil manner simply cannot allow to
succeed those who disobey laws and seek to undermine our entire society.

Legalization of marijuana and other hard drugs will only lead to the
complete disintegration and downfall of our society. The only parallels that
can be drawn between marijuana and alcohol is that both can ruin lives and
even kill.
