BANGKOK PLANS GUARDS ON TRAINS TO FIGHT DRUGS
BANGKOK -- Bangkok city authorities will increase security on its new
sky train mass transit system since receiving reports that drug
dealers are trying to push amphetamines at train stations, according
to an official.
Suggested improvements to security include putting guards and police
aboard the trains. They already patrol platforms, said Mr Rattapol
Methanataworn of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's traffic and
transport office.
Mr Rattapol said students using the sky train operated by the Bangkok
Transit System complained to its staff that they were approached by
well-dressed men asking if they wanted to buy amphetamines.
