DRUG ADDICTS

MUNDELEIN -- An April 15 editorial supported a clean needles program
to help drug addicts avoid contacting AIDS and hepatitis, and stated
that the cost of dispensing these items would be much less than caring
for a patient who was dying of AIDS.

Thus this clean needles/syringe program could be a stepping stone for
addicts until they come to the conclusion that they have a problem and
seek help.

If these people cared about themselves and their children, they
wouldn't have started shooting up drugs in the first place.
