CLARITY NEEDED IN THE DEBATE
I'm pleased Don Barnard (postbag) recognises we are talking about
"potentially dangerous substances".
Being apposed to illegal supply of drugs does not make one a prohibitionist,
bloody-minded or otherwise.
Some drugs are legally available in those who conditions require them. They
are treatments which offer relief, especially in terminal illness and severe
pain, and I would never suggest they are prohibited.
Cannabis may well soon find its way into the formulary, and we could
possibly have a new range of useful substances at our disposal.
This is a very different matter from the uncontrolled, illicit supply of
dangerously adulterated and unclean chemical cocktails by parasitic thugs.
