DE-ADDICTION DRIVE PLANNED
MUMBAI: The Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha has
organised a `De-addiction Campaign - 2000' from April 30. Over 10,000
children from the Sanstha's Children's Organisation, from Mumbai and other
major cities of the country will be participating in this campaign.
Divided into 2,500 groups, these children will visit homes, shops, offices,
factories, hospitals, railway stations and other public places in cities
all over the country to encourage people to give up their addictions.
During this campaign, the young crusaders will be holding `de-addiction'
rallies to create awareness and will also discuss the health hazards of
drug addiction. All the participants have received special training on how
to approach people and counter their arguments regarding addictions.
They will also be discussing the financial, social and psychological damage
inflicted by addiction on addicts and their families. Exhibitions on
de-addiction by prominent doctors is also planned.
