DOMINICAN AUTHORITIES INCINERATE OVER 3 TONS OF DRUGS
SANTO DOMINGO.- The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) incinerated
a record amountg drugs seized in ports, airports and diverse parts
of the country in little more than one month.
More than 3,000 kilos of cocaine, 20,231extasis tablets, 15 kilos of
crack, 119 pounds of marijuana, 76 kilos of heroin and 136 kilos
grams of hashish were incinerated in the presence DNCD chief Rafael
Ramirez, judicial, police and military authorities, and members of
the diplomatic corps.
The narcotics were seized between August 16 and September 26 and
incinerated in the Army's First Brigade Headquarters, located 25
kilometers north of this capital.
Of that amount, 2,588 kilos of cocaine correspond to the record
cache discovered in containers in the Caucedo Multimodal Port last week.
In the same period 30 people were arrested in connection with drug trafficking.
