WHAT A RAVE IS ALL ABOUT

DO ANY of you even understand what a rave is all about? ("Raves raise
roof," by Rick Bell, April 19).

Obviously not, or else you wouldn't be picking on all the party kids. A
rave is about the music and PLUR. Do you even know what PLUR stands for?

PEACE, LOVE, UNITY and RESPECT. The majority of the ravers in Calgary have
a tremendous amount of PLUR and it is the odd few who cause the trouble.

Do you really think closing a party down by 3 a.m. will stop all the drugs,
vandalism, etc?

Guess what? By shutting down a rave early you just gave the bad bunch of
kids who are causing all of the problems nothing else to do!

As for the drugs, kids will do drugs no matter what -- if they want to. No
matter if it is at a rave, bar, or at home. Booths (Rave Safe) are even set
up at raves to inform the party kids about drugs, so they can make an
informed choice about drugs.

I invite everyone to come and experience a rave. People should not be so
critical until they have experienced one.
