"ACCUSED SHOULD BE PUNISHED, REGARDLESS OF COPS' MISTAKES"
Here's what you said about a court decision to scrap several grow-op
convictions because the accused wasn't shown a search warrant when
cops arrived...
I do not agree with what this guy was doing and I believe he needs to
be punished.
But his rights, and ours, must be respected. There are reasons for
laws (most of them are sound, I think) and the law must be respected
and applied evenly for society to work properly.
Rick Hartnell, Penticton
Our lax laws and technicalities make our courts a joke. In Asia, many
countries treat possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking
on par with heroin. I don't agree with it but it does work as a deterrent.
Randy Hodge, Burnaby
The man has broken the law and should be punished for it, regardless
of what the police have done.
Hugh Haidane, Delta
This is an absolute joke. Of course, our whole justice system is a
joke, anyway. He must be laughing all the way back to his house.
Wonderful, eh?
