RAVES, POT, AND TICKETS

I HAVE noticed several articles in your paper written by Rick Bell
concerning raves. These articles contain false information designed to
scare the public. I earn my living as a sound tech and a DJ and I had
seven events cancelled on me after his first article on
"Rollerland."

I have bills to pay, a house to pay for, etc. and I am very upset at
this person's one-man crusade to stop raves. Raves are not about drugs
and drugs are not about raves. If I lose any more income because of
Bell's lies to the public, I am going to start phoning and
complaining.

THE FACT that people like Bill Clinton and Stockwell Day, the leader
of the most powerful country in the world and the possible future
leader of our country, smoked dope in their youth, should give a hint
to narrow-minded individuals like Roy Clancy! ("Haze obscures real
danger," May 3). A ticket is a suitable penalty for possession of
small amounts of marijuana. I'll let you think about why. Speeders
cause more pain to people than any plant ever could.
