IT'S PROPAGANDA
Ogdensburg Journal editorial, Thursday 23 Sept. 1999, "Who Is
Dangerous?"
Editor states that Reconsider, Legalization groups , Libertarian
world' and a legislator are all wrong on their views of the drug war!
Ogdensburg Journal editorial, Monday 3 April 2000, "Racism and
Prisons."
Editor states that City Project and The Correctional Association of
New York State are all wrong on their views of the drug war!
Ogdensburg Journal editorial, Wednesday 26 April 2000 , "Balancing
Justice, Examining Fiction." Editor states the League of Women Voters
are all wrong on their view of the drug war.
What does the editor think those organizations have for membership?
1,000-10,000-100,000 maybe total membership of all the organization's
1 million! What ever their membership is, I'm sure they would say the
editor is wrong in his view of the drug war.
Lets face the facts, more and more people are realizing the drug war
in its present form is a waste of time and tax payers money and is
motivated by political and financial gain.
In only two drug sweeps, total of 56 people arrested. According to
financial figures in the Bureau of Justice Statistics, Sourcebook of
Criminal Justice pgs. 4, 464 dated 1997 , those 56 arrest will cost
St. Lawrence County tax payers $ 2,688,000 . that's only if all of
them only get probation. Each one that goes to prison will cost New
York tax payers another 24,000 per year per person.
Lets see! that means it cost us $ 2.5 million to take $20,000 worth of
drugs off the streets. Which probably already has been replaced.
I think those organizations know what they are talking
about!
Propaganda does not come from the reform side, propaganda comes from
prohibitionist.
"...prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principle upon which
our Government was founded." Abe Lincoln Illinois House of
Representative December 18, 1840.
