While the most popular method of receiving new clippings from The Media
Awareness Project (MAP) by email is our Drugnews-Digest
http://www.mapinc.org/lists/dnd.htm a smaller group of readers sign on for
our MAPNews email service.

MAPNews is a very busy list. Average 50 clippings per day. Unlike the
Drug-News Digest which has just the first paragraphs of articles, and a
link to the entire article, MAPNews clippings are the entire article.

Now we announce the availability of subsets of MAPNews which just contain
the clippings for each of four countries. The average for the first five
months of this year for each country in the number of articles
posted/distributed is:

Besides the advantage of receiving the whole news item by email, MAPNews
items are more timely than either the DrugNews-Digest emailing or the
posting to our news archives on the website, both which happen at the same
time. Enough news items must queue up for a Drug-News Digest to be sent out.

But MAPNews items, being single item emails, are sent out to those signed
up for the items immediately as the editing/posting team sends them to our
emailing software. Thus those who sign up for a MAPNews email list receive
the items an average of three hours before those receiving the DrugNews-Digest.
