WRONG DRUG MESSAGE
The death of the Naperville girl is tragic, but let us look at exactly what
we are mourning.
This teenager was hyped up at a party on what she thought was ecstasy, but
actually was PMA. Now people are upset that she died because she got the
wrong drug--not because she was taking drugs.
This is puzzling. If a heroin addict from a prestigious suburb died because
she shot up with rat poison instead of her usual heroin, would the media
make such a big deal about it? There have been countless warnings that this
PMA drug is out there and teens have been urged to watch what they are
taking. We should be using this teen's death as an example of what not to
do, not telling teens: "Watch out. Make sure you buy from a reliable dealer."
