120,000 PILLS SEIZED
Mae Hong Son-Police yesterday seized 120,000 methamphetamine pills after
clashing with a drug gang in Pai district.
No casualties were reported during the brief gunfight.
Following a tip-off, a combined team of 50 border patrol police,
infantrymen and local police rushed to Doi Huaypeelu hill where they
spotted six members of the gang. The gang started shooting and the Thai
team returned fire. They later retreated into Burma.
