NARCS SEIZE 13.5 KILOS OF SHABU

Some 13.5 kilos of shabu worth P27 million were recovered yesterday by
police operatives during separate anti-drug operations in Caloocan City and
Cagayan province.

Arrested in Caloocan City were Chinese nationals Jacky King alias "Roberto
Qui," and Eric Sy. The two were apprehended after two months of
surveillance, police said.

The suspects were nabbed after a search operation at University Hills
Subdivision, Caloocan City by the PNP Narcotics Group. The raid yielded
some 4.5 kilos of shabu.

Deputy Director General Jewel Canson, National Drug Law Enforcement and
Prevention Coordinating Center executive director, said they are
coordinating with the Bureau of Immigration to establish the true
identities of the suspects.

In Cagayan, one Frederick Rafanan was arrested by police operatives,
resulting in the seizure of four kilos of shabu found buried in a vacant
lot near his residence in Sinait, Ilocos Sur.

Some five more kilos of illegal drugs were confiscated from the residence
of a certain Roy Corpus in Taggat, Ilocos Norte.

According to the report, Rafanan told the police that he just fished off
the containers loaded with shabu off the waters of Claveria and Fuga
islands in Cagayan.

Canson said they are conducting hot pursuit operations along the shorelines
of Cagayan, Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte following information of illegal
drug trafficking in Claveria town.
